ACSR is a high-capacity stranded conductor which is mainly used for overhead power lines.
The term ACSR stands for “Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced is a stranded conductor including a number of aluminum wire layers on stimulated steel wire core. CONSTRUCTION

A solid or concentric stranded central steel core is surrounded by one or more layers of concentric stranded aluminum alloy 1350. The wire is protected from corrosion with a zinc coating.
